Landscape gardens are becoming more and more popular. Many people now want a beautiful garden, whether to complement a beautiful home or as a place to escape everyday stresses and find some peace in nature.

However, it can be difficult to come up with ideas for a landscape garden. A designer may be able to make some suggestions, but you really need to have a good think about what you want from your garden before any work can be done to it.

This is where landscaping pictures come in.

Landscaping pictures are the perfect way to come up with creative landscaping ideas. Landscape paintings are a good choice when it comes to finding things to look at, but professionally drawn model can also be a great help. The great thing about this is that you needn't have any real idea about what would be involved in achieving the ideas you get from the pictures, you're simply filling your head with images with which to work on your ideal garden image.

The imagination is the most powerful tool in the landscaping process. With lots of images in your head you will begin to look at your own garden differently. It will become easier for you to visualize how certain changes will appear when they are made in your garden, and you should more easily be able to see what might look good where. Using the power of imagination is an essential part of the process and also allows you to create exactly what you want.

If you aren't as motivated to change your garden as you should be then looking at landscape pictures will help encourage you. Seeing images of how your garden could look will give you a greater desire to see it completed. They really are a great aid to the process.

Finding pictures to give you ideas is easy. You can search the internet and come up with hundreds instantly, and you can also find books of painting and photographs available in public libraries as well as book shops.

It can be easy to get carried away with ideas, but remember that it won't be possible to creat absolutely anything you like the look of. Bear in mind the natural conditions where you live. If you live in an alpine region don't expect to recreate a jungle landscape. However, as long as you keep these aspects in mind your imagination is the only real limit to what you can achieve.

It's a good idea to store copies of your favourite images and narrow your selection over time. Storing pictures for reference can help when it comes to the final design stages of the process. So over time either keep cut outs or photocopies of printed images, or keep digital images in a special folder, and narrow down your collection as time goes on. Remove older images which you aren't so keen on any more, and you'll be able to get closer to your final perfect image.

You can find more pictures gallery on Landscaping Pictures. DreamsLandscaping.com is a comprehensive resource to get help in Landscape Design.

Check out these great lawn care tips to achieve a healthier lawn:

1. When mowing, the key to success is little and often - 'little' in this case meaning not too closely. Light cutting encourages the grass to produce extra shoots, and stunts weeds and coarse grasses. Most lawnmowers offer the facility of raising or lowering the height of cut. Mower blades need to be set at different levels according to the weather and amount of growth.

2. To produce the sought-after striped effect, you simply cut the grass in parallel lines, mowing alternate lines in opposite directions. Each time you mow, remember to work at right angles to the direction of the previous cut; north-south one week; east-west the next.

3. Before you start cutting, make sure that the grass is as dry as possible and free from surface litter. Lightly brush off dew or rain, wormcasts and dead leaves. When cutting the grass, you should always push the mower forwards steadily. Do not pull the machine to and fro and try not to lean heavily on the handle.

4. Clippings are best collected and removed - unless you mow very frequently. Allowing them to lie on the surface of the grass encourages worms and diseases and you'll probably find clippings all over your carpets too.

5. As a general rule, in Summer you should cut the grass at least once a week, preferably twice if you can manage it. Do not mow too closely or the colour and texture of the grass will deteriorate.
During droughts and in the Spring and Autumn months, mowing once a week is sufficient.

6. Apart from mowing, your lawn will require feeding, weeding and occasionally watering to maintain healthy growth. To produce a flourishing lawn you need soil which has the right balance of plant foods like nitrogen, potash, phosphorous and lime. Buy an inexpensive soil testing kit if you want to know the exact composition of the soil and which nutrients (if any) are lacking.

7. The average lawn will benefit from an annual Spring application of fully balanced fertiliser. Fertilisers not only encourage the grass to grow faster but also more densely. As a result, weeds and moss are crowded out and the lawn retains its good, even green colour. Apply fertiliser when the grass leaves are dry and the soil is moist for the best results. Water the lawn if no rain falls within 48 hours.

8. For small lawns, weeding by hand is the most effective means of tackling the special rosette or matt kind of lawn weeds, or you can 'spot' treat individual weeds with a recommended weed killer. For a larger lawn, use a 'broad spectrum' type of weed killer which will destroy a wide range of weeds. You could also use a combined weedkiller/fertiliser mixture.

9. We usually receive sufficient rainfall in this country to maintain a green healthy lawn. If the weather is particularly dry and the grass begins to lose its bright green appearance, occasional watering is beneficial. A good soaking once a week is what you should aim for. Dampening the surface causes more harm than good - the earth should be soaked to a depth of at least 4 inches. A revolving sprinkler gives the best coverage.

Classic Lawns are a respected garden machinery retailer, specialising in lawn mowers, teak garden furniture and metal garden furniture.

One of the best parts of being a homeowner is actually "owning" a piece of land. No matter how big or how small, this piece of land is yours to do with what you please. The Native American ideal of land stewardship is a fantastic one, the idea that none truly own the land, but should feel encouraged to diligently keep the land as merely stewards of it. If you think of yourself as a steward of the land you inhabit, you will accept and take on willingly, the responsibility of maintaining it, protecting it, and keeping it looking its best. Is this a too high-falooting ideal when discussing your lawn, your very own patch of green? Perhaps so, but if thought of in this manner, maybe you'd be more inclined to treating it better and looking out for its best interest.

In the Middle Ages, no one groomed or mowed their lawns, obviously. Lawns were kept as special green spaces for enjoyment, yet were not bridled, restrained, and hacked, to look like the British Open's long greens. Lawns were mostly kept under control by use; by being trampled by horses, sporting activities, and the like, allowing them to grow a little longer, a little healthier, and greener, without the introduction of chemicals or fertilizer. Could perhaps a secret to a greener lawn be letting it grow longer between cuttings? Yes, it very well could. I'm not suggesting you let your lawn look like "Little House on the Prairie", mind you. Letting it grow a little longer between cuttings and setting your lawn mower to its highest setting can make a world of difference in keeping a healthier lawn. The longer blades of grass can help you be certain that the root systems of your lawn are flourishing below the soil with the roots being themselves longer and better established as well. Longer blades mean more surface area for photosynthesis to take place, allowing more light to be collected, to promote a healthier, more lush look in appearance as well as promoting the ability to stave off pesky weeds. Instead of watering your grass daily, extend your sprinkler or hose nozzle from your hose reel for longer, deeper watering sessions. Apply around one inch of water to your lawn once every mowing cycle to ensure proper immersion and absorption. When mowing, you should really only ever take a third of your grass' height off, in order to ensure healthy growth. Mowing once every ten days will save you quite a few mowings over the year, allowing you to spend more time with your family, and less money on gas (or electricity) to mow your lawn.

Let's all let our lawns grow in healthier ways by simply letting our lawns grow more!
There are a number of the different ways a person can find landscaping ideas at little to no cost. The most obvious is the internet. There are thousands of the sites that people can find landscaping ideas and gardening ideas. For getting landscaping ideas people can also take a look at landscaping forums and blogs where they can find new ideas that have been added by the author.

The person can also search for the landscaping ideas from books which you may have at home or you could borrow books from family members or friends. You can also find landscaping ideas in magazines. There are many newspapers that include a section on landscaping and can be helpful for you as well. You can also explore your local neighborhood or town for landscaping ideas.

The landscaping ideas come from the basis for landscape architecture. The designers of the landscape are provided with the commission by the customers who have land and also have the budget for the experiment. The ideas of the landscaping are the fundamental ideas that the designer keeps in the mind while making the plans of landscape.

Plants are used broadly for providing the natural feel to the landscape. Always be very careful before selecting the plants. The plants should be appropriate according to the climate and area. The rocks are also significant in any of the landscape. The rocks provide distinct beauty and functional characteristics.

It is also recommended to use big trees for making the landscape environment friendly. Landscaping is work that requires patience and effort. If this work is done properly than it can became a masterpiece. Landscaping ideas changes with the geography of the land. In China the ideas for landscaping originated with Feng Shui which means the wind and the water. In Europe the ideas of the landscaping can be traced with the work of the Vitruvius.

The ideas of the landscaping are not set. The finest idea comes with a flowing imagination from both the home owners and the designers. The landscape planners are very much concerned with health along with landscape beauty.
By Fran Phalan

As we near the end of summer and thoughts of getting our children back to school and making those last minute end of season trips abound, we also need to spend time on our lawns and making sure that it is prepped for the coming fall. Homeowners in today's green-conscious world have quickly turned more and more to the most efficient lawn care methods that will translate into savings for our wallets. Beyond saving money is water conservation, which affects both us and the environment we live in.

In this article, we will focus on irrigation and mulch, two areas of lawn care that should be considered for all homeowners with the desire to conserve and decrease water consumption and a cost-efficient way to cultivate the lawn and landscape.

Irrigation

Lawn sprinklers and irrigation systems are known to be quite wasteful, consuming two or three times more water than the water used indoors. Experts report that much of the water applied to a lawn is lost due to poor application practices, high evaporation, uneven distribution, and excessive runoff. To combat these lawn ails, an efficient irrigation (or sprinkler) system and watering schedule is necessary.

Irrigation Techniques

To make the best use of irrigation, divide your plants up into groups or zones with the same watering needs. Lawns, plants in containers, vegetable beds and fruit orchards may need more water than other plants such as trees, shrubs, perennials, and bulbs. Your irrigation system should reflect your different plants' watering requirements and only fulfill what is absolutely necessary to maintain your greenery. Be sure to understand your watering zones and check that these systems are not giving too much or too little water to the plants or lawn area.

An efficient watering system such as drip or soaker hoses can be used to minimize water loss through evaporation or runoff. Lawn experts further recommend that, for reducing evaporation, operate your irrigation system during the cooler hours of the early morning rather than during the heat of the day or in windy weather.

Turf would be best irrigated with sprinklers, since infrequent, but deep watering can encourage deeper root growth and greater tolerance of soil moisture fluctuations. Keep in mind that about 1.5 inches of water are needed per week for the summer. If you are not sure how much water your system is delivering to your plants, simply place a bowl or a cup in the area before the sprinkler system comes on then remove it when the system cuts off. Then all you have to do is measure the collected water. If this amount is more or less than the recommended amount, adjust your system accordingly.

Maintain Your System

It is important to not only make sure sure your irrigation is working efficiently to get your plants and lawn the water they need, but also crucial to check up on your irrigation system to be certain that it's functioning correctly. This includes checking the system for leaks, broken heads, faulty valves, and other malfunctions. You may also want to check that water isn't being misdirected onto sidewalks, driveways, or streets.

Mulch

Mulch can act as both a protection for your plants from the heat as well as an agent to trap and retain moisture. With water conservation a big issue for homeowners, mulch is more important than ever as a way to efficiently keep your plants healthy and protect from harsh conditions. Mulching helps to maintain a more consistent soil temperature and can also control weeds that may otherwise consume water meant for garden plants.

While you may not be able to control your water consumption all the time, you can definitely make an impact on both your water bill and your local community by following lawn care methods that are focused around water conservation and efficient cultivation methods.
By Rebecca Jane

One of the best parts of having a garden is that you can build up a wonderful array of foliage and flowers to brighten it up all the year round. From a lush green lawn, to wonderful vibrant flowerbeds and planters, there is a lot you can do to transform an otherwise lifeless garden into a stunning swathe of scenery to look at and enjoy all year round.

If you have an outdoor pergola or other structure that you want to liven up a bit, you might think that you are restricted to having a variety of pots scattered here and there, but don't forget the power of hanging plants to soften up the whole thing as well.

Hanging baskets make a great addition to any home, and you can use them in a number of ways to create different effects. The types of plants you use make a lot of difference to the final result, so choose carefully and plan the contents of each one before you begin.

Lobelia is a good choice since it comes in several different colours and trails profusely out of anything you put it in. The small bright flowers are quite stunning and if you put more than one colour in a single basket you hardly need anything else in with it to complete the look.

You may not think that geraniums are a good choice for a hanging basket but if you plant them in the centre of the arrangement they grow upwards and provide size and form as well as gorgeous colour. Vireya rhododendrons are another fine choice if you can keep them well watered, as they are a tropical plant.

If you want to bulk out the basket with some greenery hanging down for good effect, then don't dismiss the staple varieties of ivy that are available. These make a wonderful choice if you want to have that long trailing effect that looks so good in any kind or size of basket.

As a general rule pick plants that will either remain fairly small in size, or are known for their ability to grow over the sides of their containers. The secret to keeping them looking good at all times is to water them well. During hot weather you should water your baskets in the morning, before the sun has a chance to get really hot, and also in the evening once the baskets are out of direct sunlight. If you miss even a day doing this you will notice the difference.

It is also important to select plants that are native to and lovers of the particular climate in your local area. What may flourish in one garden could wilt and die in another, so make your choices carefully and ask for advice at your local garden center if you can.

With practice you will soon be designing stunning hanging baskets for your veranda that everyone will stop to admire. And you'll get months of enjoyment out of them too.

Your garden, you love the way it looks with all the flowers, shrubs, and lovely stone that it has. However, for some reason, you just feel like its missing something. Well, a great way to give it a lovely decorative finishing touch is with garden finials. They are an outdoor fixture that most people don't know about.

Okay, now you might be one of those people that haven't ever heard of garden finials. Don't worry, because here is a quick crash course, they are stake like items that are made to be driven into the ground. Usually, they will be made of metal with wood being used about ten percent of the time.

What's so special about them, well, it is because garden finials can be very decorative in nature, which is the result of the different ways that they are designed and styled. For example, you can get one that is in the beautiful shape of a butterfly, another that looks like a fairy, and there are even those that are in the shapes of animals, including rabbits, geese, and cranes. Each would serve as a lovely decorative accent in your space for a great way to complete its look. You can even get ones that look like pointed lances that have vibrant stained glass incorporated into their design.

Now, not only can garden finials be used as accent pieces, but you could have them be the decorative focal point in your garden as well. How can you make this happen? Well, it's a pretty simple process really, all you have to do is when you design your garden space, just start with these fixtures first and then build everything else around it. Like, you could put a few garden finials in the center of your space, then add flowers, shrubs, and in no time, things will be looking good.

Not quite feeling garden finials, no problem, because there are other outdoor fixtures that you can invest in to really add to the overall look of your outdoor space. One nice option are weather vanes, great for putting a top a house, garage, and you could even use one if your garden if you wanted too. Some of the other fine choices include rain cups, cupolas, and outdoor wall art.

For an easy way to check out all the garden finials or other outdoor fixtures that you could purchase for your space, simply hit the Internet and do some online shopping. It's a pretty convenient way to shop because you don't have to go anywhere to do it. And, when you do find something that you want while browsing, generally, you can get it at a good price and what you buy will also be shipped right to you. So, no worrying about having enough space to transport it.

In the end, garden finials are just a nice way to complete the look of your garden. Get some today, so you can start enjoying your beautiful garden tomorrow.

Doesn't it sound wonderful? You could be swaying gently in a soft supportive hammock, feeling that ever so slight breeze and letting all your troubles melt to the ground beneath you. Ahhh. Breathe in, breathe out. That's all you have to do. Great thought, it's it? Maybe it's time you got a hammock!

Camping is a popular time when people set up hammocks. Many people think they're easier to setup and more comfortable than air mattresses and sleeping bags. However, not all hammocks are suitable for camping. Tourist or yard hammocks made from uncomfortable, rough-woven fibers, thin nylon strings or thick-corded rope with wooden spreader bars are intended only for a short nap in the shade. You need to consider what the goal of the hammock is and make your decision based on desired use, comfort level, and price.

Comfort is important. Cotton rope is cooler and softer during those summer months but the synthetic rope hammocks are better at resisting rot and other damage coming from being exposed to the elements. Hammocks made from fabric don't leave rope indentations on the skin, however, and tend to be more comfortable.

Three-point hammocks are an option to consider. They are made with a no-tilt design to deliver a mild sway resting retreat. It has two points of attachment on one end and one point of attachment on the other to limit swinging movement.

How about hanging it? The fantasy version has you hanging it between two perfectly spaced coconut trees. But most of don't have coconut trees in our yards and they certainly aren't the perfect size and distance from each other. That's why most people end up getting a hammock stand. It is another expense as part of this fantastic relaxation scenario, but they are important. They come in a variety of styles and sizes and are made from materials such as wood, aluminum and plastic. It all depends on what you want and how much you want to spend.

For more discussions on hammocks and hammock stands please visit our website. We also have several hammock accessories available for sale.

Flowers do so much to beautify the front of your house, the border of a parking strip or driveway, and brighten up a shared public garden. More than any other flower, the rose possesses a beauty and aroma that makes it a favorite among professional gardeners, hobbyists, and admirers alike. A garden, bounteous with beautiful roses is sure to catch the eyes of all neighbors, young and old, beckoning them to walk by again and again, enjoying the beauty and smells as they emanate from its borders. There are secrets to growing the fullest, most exquisite roses imaginable, including picking the ones that are the best suited for particular climates and geographical locations.

Many who admire roses from afar would be surprised to find out just how easy growing roses of their own can be. Many types of roses are especially hearty and grow abundantly with little upkeep. Floribundas are among the easiest to grow and tend. Producing large clusters of attractive blooms late into the fall, these roses do well as broad landscaping, expanding easily to cover large areas. If low and expansive growth is not what you desire, many enjoy the climbers, climbing varieties of roses. These types of roses grow best on a trellis or really any structure that strikes your fancy. Climbers can be trained to grow on an antique bicycle frame if you so desire. Climbers are especially attractive to passersby as they greet them at eye (nose) level with sweet smells and alluring petals.

If a small space or border is in need of some brightening, you may want to choose miniature roses. These types are made to grow to a small height of less than a foot, allowing them to be ideal for rockeries or lining walkways or paths. If you have a shed or outbuilding that needs brightening up, creeping roses can do the job. They do well in cooler climates and are easily trained to creep along your garden wall or up the side of your garage. By placing objects in their way and guiding them, a very natural look of creeping landscaping can be achieved and add to a wild, natural looking garden motif.

As a rule, roses should be planted after winter temperatures arrive and after chances of frost or snow has past. Roses enjoy ample sunlight each day, between six to eight hours, and enjoy routine watering sessions, so make sure the garden hose can extend from your hose reel to your plantings. Having found your special types of roses, get to planting and next season, you will reap the odoriferous rewards of a rose-filled garden!
By Keith Markensen

Every lawn is not the same but for some lawns all they need is just a little TLC from their owners. To make your lawn stand out from the rest, you need a simple, two step maintenance plan.

Fertilize

Start with a spring, summer, and fall fertilizer treatment. All grass and soil needs regular safeguarding either to help in soil fertility and/or grass' demands. Make sure the all-purpose, dust-free, pellet fertilizer you choose is made for your region and applied at a 2-2-1 ratio. Most common components to look for are nitrogen, phosphorus and potash. Nitrogen in various forms will give you the long-lasting green you desire, with quick and extended release formulations. Make sure to water your lawn after application and to keep it well saturated throughout your dry season.

Pest and Disease Control

The next step to a lush lawn is to rid it of pests and disease. Among the first pest to look for are the annoying tan colored moths that come out at dusk. These pests lay eggs that become sod webworms that dine on grass bases. Chemical products for these pests from Ortho and Bayer will help you get a handle on these bugs. This same chemical can be applied for white grubs that prefer eating at your grass deeper down. You can tell you have grubs when you find dead patches in you lawn that you can lift up.

Some common lawn diseases are brown patch and snow mold. The first is a fungal disease that attacks your lawn in circular shaped spots and makes your grass turn dark green to light brown. To cure your lawn, apply a fungicide, water the diseased lawn less and aerate the soil.

Snow mold and moss growth can benefit from lawn fertilizers rich in nitrogen, iron and sulfur. The soil will be too healthy for these to grow in. To identify snow mold, your lawn will appear pink and cotton-like. This develops from compact snow melting off the top of your lawn. Make sure to sweep or brush the affected lawn before fertilizing. The presence of moss is a bad omen. It means that your soil lacks fertility, your grass has been watered too much or too little, it has improper soil drainage, extra acidity and/or has been too compacted. Again, nitrogen will save your lawn and return the green to the diseased areas.

In times like these it is easy to see why so many people like yourself are interested in best lawn fertilizers. Don't be shy - check us out at plant-care.com.
By Andrew Caxton

A garden or a lawn are pieces of major masterwork, your home and your location. Gardens and lawns are not isolated. When you begin to choose what to grow, you may make a little research.

Factors To Consider About Lawn Care Maintenance

Climate. It is almost obvious but many people skip the fact that climate differ along the year, and you need to sow and cultivate according to main characteristics of your climate. Dry climate pose more challenge to grass and flowers;windy climate has to be considered with care; humidity, frost and snow may be part of your climate menu and so on. Naturally are plants and grass more suitable for your climate than others, find which are they.

Location of your garden and lawn. Long hours of sun or long shady hours? Heavy traffics, pets, dog spots or a slightly traffic and plenty of tranquility? Enumerate and rate the factors. Prioritize the climate you are going to have most part of the year and divide the zones for different plants, some loves shade, some adores sun.

Grass

Grass varies greatly and offers many types. From resilient to weed to very sensible to pest. Grass that need very low watering for a dry zone is the best chose. For humidity climates search for grass that needs frequently watering.

Once you have make your choice, know the Basic: mowing is basic. Mow higher than the usual and you provide more strength to your grass, higher grass will help to decrease the health of the weeds, notice that weeds needs frequently watering and abundant sun in general, a tall, thick grass will prevent weed to feed correctly, thus lowering their rate of growth.

Raking to remove thatch is good to keep diseases caused to fungus off, a high thatch over your grass will act detrimentally against your grass growth and health.

About Professional Lawn Care Maintenance and Upkeep Services

In the last years lawn care services boomed incredibly with the development of a new industry based on professional services customized for homeowners, it is known that homeowners are short of time and many just want to enjoy the left time in the lawn and not working to keep good looking.,companies have noticed this change in the homeowner behavior and prepared themselves to play the roll of lawn services providing at professional level.

Companies varies their offerings, products and services according to the customer budget and lawn area size and many provide special services according to grass type, like Kentucky grass, a traditional and very popular lawn grass even today. They may be hired lawn care maintenance, being this partial or total, many of them trimmed their prices to target different budgets and encourages homeowner to get adequate assessment about their lawns.

The first appointment is always crucial for both provider and customer, remember to make all the question you need and be sure to know how much they are going to bill you exactly for the services they may give you and learn about regulations: the person and company rendering services must be licensed and well versed not only about its task but to comply with all rules and permits necessary, when you feel that the contractor is the appropriate, then you can begin to finish the details before signing any contract and make sure that all the details be included in the contract.
By Chris S. Horton

Everyone wants to have a beautiful lawn that is the envy of the neighborhood, but a lot of people do not know how to achieve that beautiful, lush, healthy, green lawn during the warm summer months. It is actually not as hard as many people would think. If you follow these simple steps along with proper spring lawn care maintenance you can have a beautiful lawn this year.

First make sure your watering your lawn properly. Watering your lawn is a huge part of summer lawn care simply because for the most part it is the time of the year your lawn gets the least amount of water from rain. Normally you want to make sure your lawn is getting at least 1-1.5 inches of water including rainfall. During summer months this number sometimes needs to be adjusted a little higher, so look at your lawn and if you notice it is starting to yellow give it a little more water,1.5-1.75" should do the trick, but make sure not to over water the lawn either. It is also best to water your lawn in one bigger session than spreading it out all week long. You will want to water before 10 a.m. as well to cut down evaporation as you want all of the water to sink into the ground otherwise it will not help your lawn at all. You can also water at night when it is cooler, however it is best to water in the mornings because watering at night promotes fungus and disease in lawns. Never mow your lawn during the warm periods of the day as this will do absolutely nothing for your lawn, it can actually cause it to "burn up".

Second the height of mowing your lawn play a big role in the health of your lawn, especially during the summer. When mowing your lawn during the summer months mow it a little higher than you normally would. The reason you will want to mow the grass a little higher is to protect the roots from the heat of the sun. Although sun is important to the growth and health of your lawn it is also a big factor in the "burning", or yellowing "dead" effect many lawns suffer from during the summer. I suggest leaving your lawn at least 3-3.5" high. You may need to mow your lawn higher than that even sometimes as high as 4" depending on the grass type, and the heat of the sun.

The third thing you will want to do is mow your lawn less frequently. During the summer months you generally want to mow your lawn less then you do in the spring and fall months. You will at most want to mow your lawn once every other week during the summer. Also, mowing your lawn during the cooler morning and evening hours of the day is better not only for your lawn, but for yourself as it reduces the risk of heat stroke and dehydration.

Finally, keep your lawn mowers blades sharp. You always want to have sharp blades when mowing your lawn so that you actually get a good clean even cut. Dull blades do not really cut the grass they tear it. You want you want to keep your blades sharp year round, as it is important to cut the lawn instead of tear it. Tearing the lawn leaves it more open to diseases.

Horton's Lawn Care L.L.C. offers many services to assist you in the proper care, maintenance, and beatification of your lawn including: aeration, detaching, lawn rolling, re-seeding, granular fertilization, lawn mowing, weed whipping, edging, hedge trimming, flower, tree planting, landscaping, spring clean ups, fall clean ups, and snow removal.
With temperatures rising and rain fall decreasing, summer time is putting a serious strain on your lawn. If you are not careful, your lawn could end up dead. No rain and water restrictions can really take a shot at your ability to take care of your lawn. However, there are some tried and true tips that are sure to beat the summer heat.

When your lawn is suffering from a drought, these tips will help you survive:

1. Raise the blades on your mower. Taller grass provides more protection from sun and grows deeper roots, which makes it more resilient.

2. Resist the temptation to bag your lawn and use a mulching mower instead. The clippings will provide a barrier that keeps moisture in your lawn longer.

3. Aerate your lawn twice a year (fall and spring) to keep out thatch and help the roots grow deeper.

4. Sharpen your lawnmower blade. Dull blades put your grass under lots of undue stress. Stressed grass needs more water.

5. Water early in the morning and when it is not windy to avoid unnecessary evaporation of your rationed water.

6. Use a drip type irrigation system like a soaker hose. It put water in the ground, where it is needed, more efficiently.

7. Do not fertilize in the summer. Experts will tell you that fertilized lawns are more sensitive to heat and require more water.

Green is definitely a color to envy in the heart of the summer. Do yourself a favor and follow these tips to keep a green lawn that makes your neighbors squirm with envy.
Does Your Lawn Need Watering?

No matter where you live you will probably go through a dry spell and your lawn will turn brown. Should you wait for Mother Nature to water it or should you step in and water it yourself?

Even though your lawn is brown and dried up, one good rain will bring it right back to life. That's because the root system of the grass is close to the surface.

You hate looking at a brown lawn, so you decide to water it. All you have to do is turn on the hose and your lawn will be lush and green again, right? Well, sort of. But there is more to watering your lawn than just turning on the faucet.

If there is a drought in your area the community may have restrictions on outside watering. They may limit the hours you can water or ban it all together. Even if you have your own well, in time of drought you might want to think twice about using precious water on your lawn.

If you decide to water your lawn the best time of day to water is late afternoon or early evening. If you water in the middle of the day, water will be lost to evaporation. Don't put too much water on your lawn as a well irrigated lawn is more prone to diseases.

Water moves slowly through the ground so you will need to throughly soak the ground for the lawn to benefit. If you are using a hand-held hose, water one area of the lawn for about ten minutes, water another area for ten minutes, and then go back to the first area and water again. Keep watering until the lawn is well saturated.

Rotary sprinklers work well. These sprinklers allow one area to be watered while the other side is soaking up the water.

Remember the more you water your lawn, the more it will grow, and the more you will have to mow. If you are a person who doesn't like to mow, maybe that brown, dried up lawn doesn't look so bad after all.
